The University Park and Research Center, an engine for economic development, access to higher education, and enhancing the distinction of the region, encompasses a 550-acre university campus, 150-acre town center, 200-acre regional technology park, and 600-acre environmental preserve.
The university is envisioned as an international, multi-institutional center drawing higher education institutions from both the United States and Mexico to serve some 15-20,000 students, with on-campus housing for up to 30% of the students, and 1,100 units for faculty and staff.
